- Water controls static electricity
- Water is more productive in tough soils
How does it work?
Hydrovac trucks are made up of two main components.
First, high pressure jets of water are used to loosen the material that is being excavated.
Next, a strong vacuum hose sucks the loosened material and excess water into a large holding tank.
You can use a Hydrovac truck to excavate many types of materials that typically need to be excavated, including hard packed clay, ice, sand and gravel.
Hydro-Excavation in the Winter
When cold weather strikes, hydro-excavation is an especially effective digging solution. Here’s why:
The technique uses pressurized water to cut through soil, debris and other hard surfaces/materials. Hydro-vac trucks are equipped with high powered coil heaters that allow them to excavate in harsh winter climates. Heated pressurized water can penetrate and excavate through any depth of ground frost, even in colder weather, the pressurized water is strong enough to cut through the hard frozen ground.
